Shmeat.

I have provided a linked title to this post because I DID NOT make up that name. Shmeat.
I understand.
It will be great for poor nations and vegans alike. Not to mention chickens, turkeys, cows, etc.
The day this shmeat is offered to the public is the day I become Robin PHood. Poaching turkeys, from zoos if I have to, and delivering them to rich people already cooked via my kitchentruck.

Vista

I am in a mandatory 4 hour Vista training class today.
Really?
Office 2007 does the same stuff. The stuff is just in different places. Kind of like using the kitchen in a rented cottage.
4 Hours??????

I Need Money for The Handjobbin' Nurses.

A dream to be old and surrounded by friends at the same nursing home. A home where the daily treatment of lotion laced with topical Viagra, applied by young and firm nurses, directly to our naturals, results in a happy ending for all of us.
This dream will surely be expensive.
I wish to sell some art for the cause.
To the right, is a link to a webpage with available PDFs of my art for your downloading enjoyment. Perhaps, the enjoyment will last beyond the downloading and into the actual reading.
Then tell someone.
Tell everyone, in fact.
Help me get rich enough to support a future of handjobs, sitting next to my old friends.

Tally Hall

Last night, in Brooklyn, we saw Tally Hall. Jon, Paul, Storm, Brendan and I were probably the oldest people there.
We all agreed that we witnessed something special that may have been on par with a Cavern performance by the Beatles.
We're just barely not old enough to confirm that, but they were pretty good.
Now we shall wait for them to tear themselves apart. I'm just saying...

"Plastic Surgery is Chicken Soup for the Face"

I have been meaning to mention this show for a while now.
Miss Guided is funny.
The title of this post taken directly from an episode as spoken by Terry (Chris Parnell.)
Fingers crossed that it stays with us.

Obama/Kennedy

This morning on NPR, I heard compared Robert Kennedy's speech in Indianapolis following MLK's murder, and the HISTORIC speech delivered by Senator Obama yesterday in Philadelphia.
Kennedy's speech helped keep Indianapolis out of the riots, and asked people to consider compassion over revenge. Certainly opening minds to the problem of racism.
The highlight of Obama's speech, to me, was his telling of his own experience with racism within his OWN family. Specifically, his white grandmother's fear of passing black men on the street.
The fundamental difference between the two speeches was the messenger.
Kennedy spoke to the crowd.
Obama spoke as one of the crowd.
In doing so, he addressed fear and made a step towards dragging it out to die in the light of exposure.
What a time to live in, folks.
That in OUR lives, racism can be talked about in a manner to help end it.
I am so moved, and PROUD to be right here, right now.

My Daughter is Toothless

Another one goes the way of the baby. Making room for the adult with one quick bite of an apple.

Same As It Ever Was.

Series finale of The Wire last night.

I found the lack of sweeping change comforting in a "This is GOOD TV" way.

And, I admit to welling up a bit with the hope inspired by Bubbles' invitation to the table even though the door in the basement, as well as the door upstairs, lead out to the same Baltimore.

The Wire

Only one more episode. Ever.
Omar got capped. McNulty is about to get ratted out. Certainly Marlowe's lawyer will contest the unauthorized wire-tap...
And then The Wire's Baltimore will leave us in much the same shape as she entered our lives.
I will miss this show and its inhabitants dearly.

AND...No Graffiti in the Bathroom!

My new job allows me to listen to music at my desk.
I have had my iPod on shuffle for the past week, and I can say without hesitation that Wilco is the best music for a work environment.
Soothing, yet prickly.
Keeps my ears on the qui vive.
"What did he just say?"
Mellow enough to not disturb sensitive co-workers.
Love it.
